Kris' Camp Continuing Education Course:
Autism as a Psychomotor Regulation Disorder
May 27-28 at NMTSA
NMTSA is hosting a two-day continuing education course offered by Kris' Camp that looks at autism as a psychomotor regulation disorder: theoretical and applied implications (more info). Many of you may know that NMTSA's ACT School program was modeled after Kris' Camp with the addition of access to academics for persons with autism. This philosophy was developed from clinical experience and evidence-based practice and is utilized by our therapists at NMTSA.
The course will be held at NMTSA on May 27-28 from 8:30-4:30. The cost is $300/professional and $125/parent, student, or habilitator. The presenters are Kathy Berger, PT, Michelle Hardy, MT-BC, NMT, Dena Reany, Ed.M, and Suzanne Oliver, MT-BC, NMT. The training provides research to support the philosophy as well as hands on application of functional supports and accommodations.
If you are interested in attending this course, please go to www.nmtsa.org to access a registration form (located under Upcoming Events). All NMTSA families will receive 10% off all registration fees made by May 20, 2009 (please indicate on your registration form: NMTSA DISCOUNT). Please note that availability is limited.
