Job Title: Music Therapist (click here to download an application)
Hours: Full-Time. Full-time at NMTSA consists of 30-34 client contact hours per week. A typical schedule has a therapist working from approximately 11am until 7pm M-F, but schedules vary greatly from day to day and between therapists. Afternoon and early evening hours are required due to school-aged children being available after school.

Qualifications:
- MT-BC credential
- Neurologic Music Therapist (NMT) designation within first six months of employment (see NMT website for info: www.colostate.edu/depts/CBRM)
- Emphasis on improvisational clinical skills and treatment approach
- Dependable and disciplined, yet flexible
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Client Population: Specialization in the application of standardized Neurologic music therapy interventions with persons with developmental disabilities and/or neurological impairments inclusive of: autism, cerebral palsy, seizure disorders, Down Syndrome, Fragile X, Williams Syndrome, movement/sensory regulation difficulties, and processing difficulties.
Description of Position: We are looking for motivated, energetic individuals who would like the opportunity to work with 12 MT-BC, NMT’s providing individual and some group music therapy sessions in a clinic-based setting as well as having the unique opportunity to work with other well trained professionals in the new on site, one classroom, elementary education program (Assuming Competence Today [ACT]). The education program opened in February 2007 with a literacy-based and sensory integration based focus for children with autism. Our clinic is located in central Phoenix and serves children ages 10 months - 18 years as well as some adults, all with developmental disabilities and/or Neurologic impairment/s.
