As our mission states, we believe it is important to continually incorporate current research and best practice techniques, and to spread the knowledge of Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) through professional trainings. Together, we can ensure the quality of NMT and continue to develop NMT as a profession.
Professional Consultation / NMT Self-Study Program
NMTSA provides the opportunity for other therapy professionals to come to our clinic for a period of consultation, collaboration and self-study. Participants will learn about NMTSA's philosophy of movement disorders, autism, and assuming competence as well as the application of NMT techniques to persons with autism, neurologic impairments, or developmental disabilities. CMTE credit is available for music therapists who participate in this program. Online Video Consultations
Through Skype and other video conferencing mediums, NMTSA's staff are available to consult one-on-one with other therapists, school programs, and researchers worldwide. This provides a great opportunity for people without nearby NMT resources to collaborate and learn effective practical strategies face to face.
