TS Alliance and NMTSA
Neurologic Music Therapy Services of Arizona’s (NMTSA) vision is to unleash the unique potential of individuals with disabilities. NMTSA has provided services to persons with neurologic impairments (ages 18 months to 85+ years of age) and their families in the greater Phoenix area since 1982. The Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance (TS Alliance) and NMTSA have teamed up to offer NMTSA’s latest program, ACT Life Access, to TS Alliance members. This year, NMTSA was awarded a $5,000 TS Alliance grant to develop and offer Life Access programming that will engage and benefit individuals with tuberous sclerosis complex. This July, Life Access began their first public offerings. Now we are excited to invite TS Alliance members to join Life Access and participate in fun, rewarding, and transformative experiences.
ACT Life Access
Life Access is rooted in the same research and philosophy that drive all ACT and NMTSA programs. The program is designed to offer support to adults of all ages and life paths. We seek to provide support to help participants lead more connected, well-rounded, and meaningful lives. To serve this purpose, Life Access also offers a number of clubs, classes, social, and communication groups. Some offerings are groups that meet at regular times, but there are also services, like home or work program development, which may be done individually. Participants select offerings that they are interested in and times they are available to participate. The schedule is ultimately created based on everyone’s interests and availability.
How to Join
Joining is easy; simply go to nmtsa.org and click on the Life Access menu. You will be able to read more about Life Access, the history of ACT and NMTSA, register for Life Access, and sign up for offerings.
If you have any questions, you can also email the Life Access Team Coordinator at cmelton@nmtsa.org.
